ISP has been dedicated to serving the homestay needs of international students in our colleges. I found them to be responsive and sensitive to the cultural background of students. We recommend ISP to international students who attend our San Mateo Colleges: Cañada College, College of San Mateo and Skyline College.

Shared Housing
For Students Attending Foothill College and De Anza College
Shared Housing units are local homes that have been converted to student housing. Typically, Shared Housing units accommodate one to seven students and are furnished to include a bed, desk, and dresser. Students share the kitchen, garden, and recreation room. Bedrooms will be single and double. Shared Housing units require a 10 month contract, starting in August and ending in June. Students prepay their rent in two installments for the year.
Students are assigned an ISP Area Coordinator who helps with adjustments and questions.
Rental prices in the area are very high. Shared Housing provides an excellent opportunity for students. Students who wish to be independent yet have the support of their landlords and ISP Area Coordinator are attracted to this program. The demand for Shared Housing is extremely high and space is limited, so please check with us for availability.
Friendship Service
If requested, an ISP staff member will provide the services listed below for Shared Housing students and their families. The price for the service is $150. Typically, we arrange to spend two to three hours with each student. Services include:
- Initial shopping trip for for food and necessities
- Area orientation
- Explanation of bus system with maps and timetables
- Personal contact for the student throughout the duration of the contract
For international students coming directly from overseas, finding safe, affordable, and convenient housing accommodations is critical. The services that ISP provides our students are essential to our success, and we value their commitment to our students.
